Position Overview The Enterprise Human Capital Management (HCM) Account Executives operate in a fast‑paced, quota‑driven environment targeting enterprise companies (500+ employees). Hunters who create their own activity, maintain a consultative approach, and possess exceptional prospecting and closing skills thrive in this role. The corporate sales office is based in Schaumburg, Illinois, but we are hiring across the nation. This is a fully remote (U.S. only) position—employees may work from home or any U.S. location, must be available five days a week during designated hours, and will only travel when required.

Responsibilities

Determine prospective customers’ HCM needs and present Paylocity services to organizations with 500+ employees.

Travel geographically to assigned accounts and partners as required.

Prepare and present proposals, and provide appropriate follow‑up throughout the sales process.

Negotiate and execute contracts.

Collaborate with internal departments during client implementation.

Develop prospects through cold calling, referrals, professional and personal contacts, and other sources.

Attend Paylocity‑sponsored trade shows, conferences, and other events to promote our services.

Meet or exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual sales quota.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

2‑5 years of experience in a quota‑driven, B2B sales position, selling to organizations with 500 or more employees at the enterprise level.

Proven ability with sales prospecting and closing.

Ability to succeed in a competitive environment.

Critical thinking and decision‑making skills to handle objections and unexpected situations throughout the sales cycle.

Customer‑service orientation—client always comes first.

Strong presentation skills to effectively represent Paylocity and help clients visualize the benefits of our services.

Strong written and oral communication skills.

Strong listening skills to probe deeper into clients’ needs and expectations.

Strong organizational and time‑management skills.

Proficiency with MS Office; experience with sales automation software desirable.

High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree strongly desired.

This role offers competitive salary, commissions, and incentives.

Physical Requirements

Mobility required for sitting, standing, and walking.

Mobility required for driving to prospective client sites.

Manual/finger dexterity required in both hands to operate a computer keyboard and manipulate small objects.

Sensory ability required to see, hear, and touch.

Mental effort required for reading, writing, visualization, calculation, and analysis.

Job duties usually performed in an office environment with uniform temperatures and normal air conditions.

The pay range for this position is $77,600 – $144,200 / yr; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience. This position is eligible for our variable commission plan, annual bonus, and restricted stock unit grant based on individual performance in addition to a full range of benefits outlined here.
