Job Description:

  • The Patient Services Representative I (PSR I) represents the face of the company to patients who visit as part of their routine healthcare or for important health decisions.
  • The entry-level PSR I supports patient care by greeting patients upon arrival, addressing questions or concerns with care and compassion, and maintaining the integrity of the waiting area.
  • This role also assists with breaks when other phlebotomists are unavailable and provides training in phlebotomy skills to support career growth within the organization.
  • The PSR I has direct patient contact and creates an atmosphere of trust and confidence by clearly explaining what to expect during scheduled procedures in a safe and accurate manner.
  • This role demonstrates excellence in customer care while maintaining confidentiality and accuracy of patient information.
  • The individual s contribution is critical to ensuring a positive patient experience and maintaining lobby operations.
Responsibilities:
  • Perform daily activities accurately and on time under the direction of the area supervisor.
  • Greet patients and assist with check-ins using self-service kiosks or handheld tablets.
  • Maintain a safe, professional, and welcoming environment.
  • Maintain required records and documentation accurately.
  • Assist with lobby coverage and phlebotomy breaks as needed.
  • Learn and develop phlebotomy skills during downtime or when coverage is required.
  • Once trained, perform forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing in accordance with established procedures.
  • Demonstrate organizational commitment and promote a positive image to patients, clients, employees, and the public.
  • Provide a high level of customer service at all times.
Requirement/Must Have:
  • Strong customer service skills with the ability to handle patients with care and compassion.
  • Willingness to learn phlebotomy skills.
  • Keyboard and data entry proficiency.
Experience:
  • Minimum of 1 2 years of client-facing customer service experience required, such as retail or home health aide roles.
  • Prior phlebotomy experience is not required.
Qualification and Education:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
