Job Title: Phlebotomist I

Location: Eustis, FL
Duration: 6+ Months (Possibility of Extension)
Shift: Monday–Friday, 5:30 AM – 2:30 PM (Rotational Weekends)

Position Overview:

The Phlebotomist I (Patient Services Representative I) serves as the primary point of contact for patients, ensuring a positive experience while performing high-quality blood collection and specimen preparation for laboratory testing. This role requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to maintain patient trust and confidentiality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform venipuncture and specimen collection for clinical and forensic testing following established protocols.
  • Prepare and process specimens accurately for laboratory analysis.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and professional environment in compliance with safety and HIPAA standards.
  • Accurately document patient information and maintain required records in EHR systems.
  • Provide clear explanations of procedures to patients, ensuring comfort and confidence.
  • Demonstrate leadership behaviors and uphold organizational values in patient interactions.
  • Support daily operations under the direction of the area supervisor, ensuring timely and error-free work.

Requirements:

  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent (Required); Medical Assistant or Paramedic training preferred.
  • Certification: Phlebotomy certification preferred (Required in CA, NV, WA).
  • Experience: Minimum 6 months phlebotomy experience required ; 1+ year preferred.
  • Strong phlebotomy skills , including pediatric and geriatric collections.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills .
  • Keyboard/data entry proficiency required.
  • Flexible to work weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime as needed.

Additional Details:

  • Candidate must reside within 20–25 minutes of Eustis, FL and have reliable transportation (rideshare/bus not acceptable).
  • Must adhere to attendance and punctuality standards; excessive absenteeism or tardiness will result in termination.
