Job Title: Phlebotomist I
Location: Eustis, FL
Duration: 6+ Months (Possibility of Extension)
Shift: Monday–Friday, 5:30 AM – 2:30 PM (Rotational Weekends)
Position Overview:
The Phlebotomist I (Patient Services Representative I) serves as the primary point of contact for patients, ensuring a positive experience while performing high-quality blood collection and specimen preparation for laboratory testing. This role requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to maintain patient trust and confidentiality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform venipuncture and specimen collection for clinical and forensic testing following established protocols.
- Prepare and process specimens accurately for laboratory analysis.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and professional environment in compliance with safety and HIPAA standards.
- Accurately document patient information and maintain required records in EHR systems.
- Provide clear explanations of procedures to patients, ensuring comfort and confidence.
- Demonstrate leadership behaviors and uphold organizational values in patient interactions.
- Support daily operations under the direction of the area supervisor, ensuring timely and error-free work.
Requirements:
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent (Required); Medical Assistant or Paramedic training preferred.
- Certification: Phlebotomy certification preferred (Required in CA, NV, WA).
- Experience: Minimum 6 months phlebotomy experience required ; 1+ year preferred.
- Strong phlebotomy skills , including pediatric and geriatric collections.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills .
- Keyboard/data entry proficiency required.
- Flexible to work weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime as needed.
Additional Details:
- Candidate must reside within 20–25 minutes of Eustis, FL and have reliable transportation (rideshare/bus not acceptable).
- Must adhere to attendance and punctuality standards; excessive absenteeism or tardiness will result in termination.
