Position Description The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of California, Davis Health is recruiting two full‑time Academic Generalist Obstetrician/Gynecologists. Appointments will be made at the Assistant or Associate Health Sciences Clinical Professor level, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Salary will be based on experience and qualifications.
Responsibilities:
Selected candidates will provide comprehensive clinical care in general obstetrics and gynecology as part of the University Women's Health (UWH) group, the largest division within the department, with over 16 faculty members. Faculty responsibilities include:
Clinical Care
Outpatient clinics
Daytime hospitalist coverage of both obstetric and gynecologic services in collaboration with UWH faculty
Obstetrical in‑house night call and back‑up home call (per Compensation Plan)
At‑home gynecology call in rotation with departmental gynecologic subspecialties
Typical call: 2 in‑house shifts (with home call) or 3 in‑house shifts (without home call)
Teaching & Mentorship
Direct supervision and teaching of medical students and residents in clinic, Labor and Delivery, in the operating room, and on inpatient wards
Participation in curriculum development and educational activities is strongly encouraged
Academic Service & Scholarship
Participation in scholarly projects, quality improvement initiatives, and/or research
Active involvement in committee work and University service

Qualifications Basic qualifications

M.D. or D.O. degree
Completion of an accredited Obstetrics & Gynecology residency (or currently in the final year)
Board Certified or Board Eligible in Obstetrics & Gynecology
Eligible for California medical licensure
Experience in general obstetrics and gynecology
Ability to work cooperatively and collegially in a diverse academic environment
