JOB SUMMARY The Anesthesiology Department is hiring an IR/IT Manager to manage the departmental IR Team.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience leading complex administrative operations in an academic and clinical setting, with the ability to translate data into actionable insights that support administrative, clinical, educational, and faculty missions.

We are seeking someone who can manage cross‑functional workflows, drive process improvements, and ensure compliance with institutional and regulatory requirements.

Candidates should bring demonstrated leadership skills, a collaborative approach, and the ability to supervise staff while maintaining high operational standards.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION Required

Education

Bachelor's Degree

Experience

6 years of technical skill responsibilities and 2 years of supervisory experience, including website, software applications, and hardware (PCs and Macs) operations and network server management

Preferred

Strong SQL experience

Strong Python experience

JOB DUTIES

Serves as the technical expert for operating an environment in traditional areas of system programming and system planning, making design recommendations for products.

Provides cross‑institutional assistance to all parties to debug, enhance, and educate users regarding operating environments and designs for all faculty members; builds high customer satisfaction by managing end‑user expectations and communicating complex technical issues clearly.

Ensures that departmental users have appropriate computer equipment, access to systems and workplace support; follows up with clients to ensure successful completion of tasks.

Resolves bugs promptly and enforces quality assurance standards by developing high‑quality, reusable, well‑documented, stable, efficient, and defect‑free code.

Ensures code is thoroughly tested to avoid production defects or complaints; works independently to research and resolve problems and reports findings during technical meetings.

Builds infrastructure and participates in projects that support the goals and advancement of the department.

Ensures successful completion of departmental tasks in a timely manner.

Responsible for ensuring that the department and staff adhere to and protect data security cross‑institutionally, complying with IT regulatory and institutional requirements, including management of access to the departmental drive space.

Demonstrates senior experience and leadership, providing supervision, oversight, and mentoring to lower‑level engineers and/or technical support specialists.

Stays abreast of emerging technologies in the marketplace and uses new improvements in technology and standards to further develop high‑quality systems.

Handles technical aspects of the webpage, designing, developing, and maintaining the intranet homepage for all division leaders.

May perform usability studies to continually improve technical and software support within the department.

Performs other duties as assigned.
