Phlebotomist - Lab - Travel Contract Job at Actalent in New Port Richey

Job Title: Phlebotomist The main function of a Phlebotomist is to assist in performing various assigned duties, troubleshooting, training, and making workflow recommendations. This role involves collecting and storing specimens according to established procedures, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the specimens, and complying with regulatory standards. Perform blood draws, label specimens, centrifuge specimens, record maintenance data, and decontamination. * Update patient information and properly explain the venipuncture process and other specimen collections. * Check all test requisitions or computer labels against scripts to ensure accuracy. * Comply with OSHA and DEP regulations and attend annual department training. * Answer telephone inquiries and read laboratory results to satisfy inquiries. Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state of employment. * Minimum of 6 months' experience performing venipunctures in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting. * Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite. * High School Diploma or GED. 1+ years of phlebotomy experience. * Verifiable experience drawing on all age groups.
