The Jail Health Services (JHS) Division of Public Health — Seattle & King County is seeking interested applicants for a Term‑Limited Temporary (TLT) or Special Duty Assignment (SDA) as a
Reentry Demonstration Initiative Project/Program Manager II (PPM II) .
In this assignment you will work alongside the JHS Project Manager overseeing the Reentry Demonstration Initiative in King County. The role supports the planning and implementation phase of this cross‑sector collaboration, convenes with sponsors, cross‑sector partners, and workgroups, and responds to emerging needs.
Position is temporary, up to 18 months, with funding uncertain. A Special Duty Assignment is available for qualified current King County employees who have completed probation and have supervisor approval.
Position Summary This position supports King County’s participation in the Reentry Demonstration Initiative—a new Apple Health (Medicaid) program under the Medicaid Transformation Project (MTP). The initiative provides health services to incarcerated individuals up to 90 days before release, ensuring a smooth transition back to the community.
Background JHS delivers medical, dental, mental health, social, release planning, substance use, and pharmaceutical services to the incarcerated population in King County jails, including the King County Correctional Facility (KCCF) and the Maleng Regional Justice Center (MRJC). The division’s mission is to stabilize serious health problems for those detained and facilitate successful reentry.
Work Schedule Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., 40 hours per week with some flexibility. This position is hourly/non‑exempt and overtime eligible upon supervisor approval.
Work Location Chinook Building – 401 5th Avenue, Suite 1200, Seattle, WA 98104. Travel to King County correctional facilities may be required.
Remote and Onsite Work The JHS Project team uses a hybrid model with a mix of office days and telecommuting. The ratio of remote to onsite work will adapt to business needs.
Responsibilities
Facilitate purchase of project supplies and resources following county processes.
Assist with and develop presentations, meetings, handouts, agendas, notes, and minutes.
Maintain and revise project supporting documents.
Support workflow development, implementation, monitoring, and improvement.
Respond to inquiries from project sponsors, partners, and workgroups.
Develop, organize, and maintain the project’s SharePoint page, Microsoft Teams site, and other technical support needs.
Support development of training plans and materials; schedule and conduct necessary trainings.
Perform other project support duties as assigned.

Knowledge of project management principles, methodologies, and processes for large organizations.
Proficiency with electronic health records, Microsoft Office Suite, and web‑based tools.
Ability to lead multi‑discipline work teams and collaborate with diverse individuals.
Strong interpersonal skills; able to manage sensitive or controversial subjects with empathy and professionalism.
Adept at communicating effectively, managing multiple tasks, and staying organized in a changing environment.
Problem‑solving, conflict resolution, negotiation, and decision‑making skills.
Advanced oral and written communication skills, including formal presentations to groups and committees.
Capable of commuting to multiple King County locations during the workday.
Desired Qualifications
At least one year of experience supporting cross‑sector, politicized projects.
Experience supporting development of a comprehensive business case, including cost‑benefit analysis, expected outcomes, and strategic alignment.
Experience working with Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) in social, public health, behavioral health, or related settings.
Demonstrated knowledge of the criminal legal system and community‑based services in and around King County.
