Senior FP&A Analyst

to join its high‑performing finance team in Chicago. This role will provide analytical insights, reporting, and financial planning to support Trading Technologies’ growth. Reporting to the VP Finance, the Analyst collaborates closely with Accounting, Sales Operations, and business partners across the company.

Responsibilities

Support development of the Annual Operating Plan (AOP) and rolling forecasts; prepare variance analytics against forecasts.

Facilitate financial reviews with business partners to understand their budgets, provide budget‑to‑actual feedback, and ensure effective cost management.

Manage the Headcount Request and PO Approval processes.

Prepare, deliver, and continuously improve monthly/quarterly business reporting packages to executive management, the board of directors, and other stakeholders.

Maintain and enhance the fully integrated three‑statement financial forecast model.

Work with accounting to support month‑end close/reporting, ensuring expenses are coded to the correct GL accounts.

Support sales/revenue forecasting, metrics, reporting, and analysis.

Perform ad‑hoc analyses to support initiatives such as pricing, margins, cost‑benefit analyses, new business lines, or other complex business modeling.

Develop an in‑depth understanding of key business drivers and incorporate them into monthly commentaries.

Perform data‑driven analyses to monitor business operations and provide management with clear, actionable insights.

Proactively engage with cross‑functional teams to develop continuous process improvements to planning, analysis, and reporting; work with data source providers and technology teams to ensure key data is timely and accurate.

Success in the first 100 days

Develop a strong understanding of key spend categories across departments and their budget‑vs‑actual variances.

Effectively manage ongoing processes such as department BvA packs, headcount requests, and PO approvals.

Understand the sales processes, sales metrics/KPIs, forecasting, and reporting.

Navigate primary reporting systems (Salesforce, NetSuite, Domo).

Identify initial areas for improvement within opex forecasting and automation capabilities.

Provide proactive analytical support and establish strong relationships with stakeholders.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field.

4‑6 years of FP&A, investment banking, corporate finance, or similar analytical/reporting experience, preferably private equity.

Ownership of processes with a bias towards automation and workflow improvements.

Strong understanding of SaaS/Software metrics (Bookings, ARR, LTV, CAC, churn/retention).

Expert Excel skills with advanced data/financial operations proficiency.

Experience with NetSuite and forecasting/budgeting tools such as Planful or Adaptive.

Experience with CRM and analytical tools such as Salesforce, Tableau, Power BI, or other cloud platforms is a plus.

Strong financial and business acumen; ability to communicate the “what” and “why” behind numbers.

Experience leading budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis processes.

Proficiency in building and maintaining complex financial models, including a fully integrated three‑financial‑statement forecast and scenario analysis.

Hands‑on experience developing gross‑margin forecasts and operating budgets at the department level.

General knowledge of GAAP and understanding of accrual vs. cash accounting.

Exceptional attention to detail and critical thinking skills.

Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to foster relationships and collaborate across the organization.

Compensation $125,000 – $225,000 per year.
