About the Role The Procurement Manager oversees the purchasing function, manages a small team, ensures accurate and timely purchase order processing, optimizes ERP workflows, drives cost savings, and negotiates and strengthens relationships with key vendor partners. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced industrial distribution environment and can balance strategic thinking and analytics with hands‑on execution.
Key Responsibilities
Manage daily purchasing activities and manage a team of buyers
Monitor and manage purchasing queues to ensure timely processing of purchase orders and vendor follow-ups.
Maintain purchasing data integrity, including lead times, pricing, vendor files, and stock parameters.
Optimize ERP purchasing workflows (Epicor Eclipse preferred) to improve automation, reduce errors, and increase efficiency.
Troubleshoot internal purchasing issues and collaborate with sales, operations, and inventory control.
Develop and maintain strong vendor relationships to support service, pricing, and supply‑chain reliability.
Lead vendor negotiations on price, terms, delivery, and escalations.
Analyze purchasing trends and recommend improvements to drive cost savings and operational performance.
Requirements
5+ years of purchasing or procurement experience, ideally within industrial distribution or related industries.
3+ years of management or supervisory experience.
Working knowledge of ERP purchasing processes (Epicor Eclipse a strong plus).
Strong mathematical, analytical, problem‑solving, and troubleshooting skills.
Excellent communication skills and ability to manage cross‑functional relationships.
Detail‑oriented with a continuous improvement mindset.
