Anakim Consulting Inc. has an opening for a senior level Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) to support full lifecycle management of Oracle database systems in a mission‑critical environment. Current IRS MBI security credentials are required to be considered for this opening.

Key Responsibilities

Contribute to a high‑performing, motivated workgroup

Manage and maintain Oracle database systems, ensuring their health, performance, and security

Provide database administration ensuring database performance, security, and high availability

Maintain data integrity, implementing security protocols, and providing expert‑level support of DB environment

Perform routine and on‑demand database maintenance tasks, including patching, upgrades, and backups

Implement and manage security protocols, including encryption and authentication, to ensure data compliance

Develop and maintain automation scripts to streamline routine administrative tasks

Conduct performance tuning and optimization to resolve database‑related performance issues

Provide application support and engage in troubleshooting for database issues

Participate in an on‑call support rotation to provide 24/7 support

Execute change management processes for all database modifications

Assist with capacity planning

Manage users and schemas

Coordinate with Oracle Support Services for issue resolution and technical guidance

Basic Qualifications

U.S. citizenship (no dual citizenship)

Current public IRS MBI security credentials are required for consideration

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related discipline

7+ years of overall experience and proven experience as an Oracle Database AdministratorAbility to work in a collaborative, team‑oriented environment

Core DBA skills including:

Expertise in software installation, configuration, upgrades, and patching

Proficiency in database creation, migration, and conversion

Networking experience with listener creation, configuration, and TNS

High availability and disaster recovery, and knowledge of backup, recovery, and clustering

Implementing solutions like Data Guard for high availability and disaster planning

Database security including compliance, vulnerabilities, remediation, database authentication (SSL) and encryption

Performance monitoring and tuning to ensure optimal database performance

Shell scripting and automation using tools such as cron

Reporting

Data modeling, database design, and data integrity

Programming with PL/SQL and database utilities

Basic skills with Linux, storage, and network concepts

Excellent oral and written communication skills to interact at all levels

Excellent time management

Preferred Experience

ICCE and eServices preferred
