Senior Mechanical Engineer
LHB has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our Energy & Industry Team in our Duluth or Minneapolis, Minnesota offices!
Job Summary The responsibilities for this position will include but are not limited to:
Supervising and leading the mechanical engineering design for a variety of projects in the Oil & Gas, Pulp & Paper, Mining & Heavy Manufacturing and Power & Distribution markets
Work closely with clients to complete project scope development and estimating to secure funding
Attending and participating in various meetings with external clients throughout the course of the project life cycle
Completing and/or reviewing design calculations, system analysis & equipment selection.
Ensure project reporting and documentation requirements are being met
Providing oversight and guidance to junior engineers and drafters on project designs
Fostering relationships with existing clients while cultivating new relationships to drive organization growth
Participate in business development activities such as collaborating with the marketing team to prepare marketing materials, performing presentations to prospective clients and attending trade shows
Performing field verifications and organizing acquired field data
Ensuring LHB QA/QC processes are followed
Minimum Qualifications
10+ years of previous employment in engineering design
Professional Engineering (PE) licensure
Familiarity with hazardous liquid, gas, process, and power piping systems / equipment
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited program
Upon receipt of an offer of employment, applicants must be able to successfully complete pre-employment onboarding requirements that will include a criminal/civil background check and drug screen, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations
Preferred Qualifications
Staff supervision experience
Leadership experience and/or aspirations
Demonstrated working knowledge in Microsoft Office Suite and analysis software such as Ceasar II and/ or AFT Fathom
Experience using AutoCAD or Revit
Possess excellent communication, interpersonal, time management and problem-solving skills
Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities
Must be willing to travel intermittently
Salary Range
$105,000 - $135,000. This position is eligible for year end and profit‑sharing bonuses. Offer will be determined based on the selected candidate's experience, knowledge, skills and abilities, as well as internal equity among our team.
