A distinguished law firm is seeking a Trademark Partner to join its New York City office. This opportunity is ideal for a senior intellectual property attorney with 10+ years of experience in trademark prosecution, enforcement, and the management of international trademark portfolios, who is looking to lead high‑impact matters and mentor a growing team.
Key Responsibilities
Advise clients on trademark protection strategies and conduct clearance searches
Prosecute U.S. trademark applications and manage opposition proceedings
Coordinate global trademark portfolio coverage with foreign counsel
Draft and negotiate trademark licenses and related transactional agreements
Prepare and respond to cease and desist communications
Collaborate with corporate and M&A teams on trademark due diligence
Appear before U.S. federal courts and the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board
Supervise and mentor an associate and a team of paralegals
Qualifications
10+ years of experience in trademark prosecution, enforcement, and portfolio management
Strong background advising on domestic and international trademark matters
Experience with licensing, transactional agreements, and brand strategy
Demonstrated leadership in client service and team development
Ability to collaborate effectively across practice areas
Education & Bar Admission
Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
Admitted to practice law in the United States
Skills & Attributes
Deep expertise in trademark prosecution and enforcement
Experience before U.S. federal courts and the USPTO/TTAB
Excellent technical, written, and verbal communication skills
Strong leadership, mentoring, and client relationship abilities
