Job Description Dewberry is currently seeking a Senior Water Resources Engineer to act as a Technical Subject Matter Expert in our Baltimore, MD office. The Senior Water Resources Engineer will be responsible for the technical review of hydraulic and hydrologic (H&H) engineering studies, client liaison with communities involved in floodplain studies, and the provision of floodplain and floodway submittals. The role also includes modeling floodplains and floodways utilizing watershed modeling programs such as FESWMS, RMA-2, FEQ, SWMM, XP-SWMM, HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS and TR-20. Additionally, the engineer will review new hydrologic and hydraulic computer models for technical accuracy and compliance with FEMA requirements, act as a mentor for junior staff, and actively participate in the flood management community to enhance Dewberry's reputation.

Required Skills & Experience

A Master’s degree in Surface Water Modeling or a related discipline; a Ph.D. is highly preferred.

20+ years of experience in hydraulic and hydrologic (H&H) modeling.

Extensive experience with at least three of the following engineering modeling programs: FESWMS, RMA-2, FEQ, SWMM, XP-SWMM, HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS and TR-20.

A Professional Engineer license (PE).

Certified Floodplain Manager (CFM).

Experience with the FEMA’s National Flood Insurance Program, including Flood Study Reviews, is preferred.

Experience mentoring junior engineering staff.

A track record of active participation in the flood management or water resources community, including published papers, presentations, and active organizational membership.

Salary The salary range for this position is $168,613 to $216,788
