Department Overview The Post-Sale Systems Engineering team is the technical lifeblood of the Systems Integration organization. Our engineers design and implement the innovative communications solutions that make a difference, "Solving for Safer". As the solution architect and technical consulting lead, the Systems Engineering team has the end‑to‑end design, technology consultancy, and implementation responsibility for all post‑sale project engagements. The Systems Engineering team delivers customer driven, world‑class, leading edge, end‑to‑end solutions that rise to the challenges of our First Responder and Government customers.
Job Description Note: The Candidate is able to work remotely in one of the following states: IL and MO. Preferred to reside near a major metropolitan area in Illinois or Missouri.
Mission‑Critical Communications Technologies
Public safety grade mobile voice and data communications networks
Advanced mobile devices
Public safety mobile broadband networks and devices (LTE)
Integrated Command and Control (911 dispatch consoles, advanced video surveillance, and other public safety applications)
The work we do is meaningful, impactful, and leading edge. You will be part of a dynamic cross‑functional client‑facing team including sales, system integrators, product engineers, third‑party vendors, project managers, and senior systems engineers – often on large and highly‑visible, multi‑million dollar engagements.
The System Engineer will take responsibility for and oversee all technical aspects of the assigned project from award until system acceptance.

Final Design and implementation of the radio network including infrastructure, subscribers, power systems design, equipment shelter and tower designs, and backhaul network design including microwave, leased line, and customer provided Ethernet networks
Customer presentations
System staging
System acceptance testing
Radio coverage testing and interference mitigation
Radio system licensing (FCC/Industry Canada/NTIA)
Preparation of system fleetmap, encryption, and radio programming templates
Complete system documentation
Live system cutovers and upgrades
Preferred Skills
Experience in radio communication systems, radio propagation, RF, wireless or broadband/LTE networks
Experience, a good understanding, and working knowledge in IP networking, network design methodologies & troubleshooting (Ethernet, TCP/IP, L2/L3, MPLS)
Certifications through CompTIA Network+, Juniper JNCIA‑Junos, Nokia NRS1, CCNA or similar
Experience directly working with end‑user customers
Excellent communications skills and the ability to present complex topics to nontechnical audiences.
Self‑motivated and able to maintain focus in a pressured environment
Previous knowledge and experience working with Juniper, Aviat, Cisco, Nokia/Alcatel, Xtreme, and/or Ceragon equipment
Experience with switching and routing protocols (OSPF, ISIS, iBGP, eBGP, M‑BGP, MPLS RSVP TE, and LDP)
Experience/knowledge in line of sight microwave propagation
Travel 25% to 50% is required within the Midwest to support all project phases, from design through final acceptance.
Must be able to obtain background clearance as required by government customers
Target Base Salary Range: $110,000 - $130,000 USD
Basic Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in an Electrical, Systems, or Telecommunications Engineering or technical discipline and 10+ years of engineering or similar experience
OR 15+ years of engineering or similar experience in lieu of an engineering degree
Legal authorization to work in the U.S. indefinitely is required. Employer work permit sponsorship is not available for this position.
Must be a U.S. citizen with the ability to obtain necessary security clearance as required by government contract.
