Job Family Group: Commercial Sales & Service

Position: PM/Underwriting role, inclusive of current and new customer calling and pitching. As a PM, the hire would manage 7-10 customers, oversee underwriting of new borrowers, and help train newer team members. The role involves decisioning and analysis of all types of credit information to support BMO lending decisions. Candidates can be located in Chicago or Dallas to support the market team.

Responsibilities

Oversee credit and legal documentation and ongoing monitoring of asset and client performance

Provide accurate financial analysis and risk assessment of new and existing customers

Oversee preparation of concise, well-reasoned credit correspondence

Coordinate preparation of lending proposals and pitches to prospective clients to maximize penetration and returns

Negotiate transactions with clients and provide deal structuring expertise

May manage workflow of other analysts by aligning tasks with departmental goals and objectives

Develop credit information to make lending decisions on new, renewal and extension loans

Assist in negotiations of terms and conditions of all decisions made via phone and e‑mail interaction with clients

Prepare summary, present facts and offer opinions concerning credit worthiness

Establish cross‑selling initiatives to increase penetration with client

Apply knowledge in bank products, processes and systems and effectively troubleshoot to ensure a high‑quality client experience

May coordinate closing with closing department, clients and attorneys

Minimize BMO's risk exposure by adhering to internal credit policies and procedures with respect to lending decisions

Provide specialized consulting, analytical and technical support

Exercise judgment to identify, diagnose, and solve problems within given rules

Work independently and regularly handle non‑routine situations

Broader work or accountabilities may be assigned as needed

Qualifications

Typically between 4-7 years of relevant experience and a post‑secondary degree in related field of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Deep knowledge and technical proficiency gained through extensive education and business experience

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Strong collaboration and team skills

Analytical and problem‑solving skills; experience in financial statement analysis and modeling is expected

Influence skills

Data‑driven decision making

Salary $88,800.00 - $165,600.00

Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part‑time roles will be pro‑rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group's expected target for the first year in this position.
