WakeMed Physician Practices is a multi-specialty group with over 500 physicians in a variety of specialty areas. We are currently seeking physicians with an interest and fellowship training in Infectious Disease to join our group in Raleigh, NC. The Infectious Disease practice has been well established for 30 years. Our team currently consists of 6 physicians and 4 APP's. Our physicians provide general infectious diseases care (consultations and follow ups) at 3 hospitals in the WakeMed system. We work closely with other medical and surgical specialists. Typical full‑time schedule is rotating covering hospital inpatient service and half day weekly outpatient clinic. We have 3‑4 weeknight calls per month (taken by phone from home) and one call weekend approximately every 5‑6 weeks. Internal medicine residents rotate periodically through the year with us. We work closely with antimicrobial pharmacy, microbiology lab, infection prevention and occupational health. Qualified candidates must be BE/BC.
The WakeMed Physician is responsible for providing quality clinical care to patients cared for by their division. The Physician may be responsible for providing teaching and supervision to residents, medical students and/or APP's within their division. The Physician is responsible for appropriate coding and corporate compliance and may be responsible for some general administrative responsibilities of the practice. Physician reports directly to the Director of their assigned division and understands and supports the mission, values, and management of WakeMed Physician Practices and WakeMed.
