Job Overview – Payroll Analyst (Temporary)
Atlantic Group is hiring a Payroll Analyst (Temporary) in Boston, MA for our client, an opportunity supporting payroll processing, audit review, time and attendance systems, and compliance across a high-volume environment. In this temp-to-perm role, you will review payroll inputs, resolve exceptions, generate audit reports, and support managers and timekeepers while leveraging Kronos Workforce Management and payroll systems to ensure accurate, compliant, and timely payroll delivery.
Compensation: $35 – $37/hour Location: Boston, MA Schedule: Monday to Friday (In-Office)
Responsibilities as the Payroll Analyst:
Payroll Processing & Audit Review:
Review payroll data, time sheets, adjustments, and off-cycle requests while generating and validating payroll audit reports prior to processing.
Resolution & Data Integrity:
Analyze rejected transactions and interfaced data, correct errors, resubmit information, and verify entries from external sources to ensure payroll accuracy.
Systems & Applications:
Provide day-to-day support for Kronos Workforce Management, including troubleshooting, reporting guidance, end-user assistance, and escalation when needed.
Compliance, Reporting & Support:
Prepare audit reports to identify discrepancies, support federal, state, and FICA compliance, respond to manager and HR inquiries, and handle sensitive payroll matters with discretion.
Qualifications for the Payroll Analyst:
Education:
High school diploma required (American Payroll Association FPC certification preferred).
Experience:
2+ years of payroll or accounting experience within a high-volume environment, including hands-on experience with an automated payroll system.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and payroll/time and attendance systems, with Kronos experience strongly preferred.
Industry Knowledge:
Working knowledge of payroll calculations, payroll tax regulations, DOL standards, and federal and state compliance requirements.
Skills & Attributes:
Detail‑oriented, analytical professional with strong communication skills, the ability to multitask across systems, and the discretion to handle sensitive information.
