Position Overview
Innovative Therapeutic Services (ITS) is seeking a Licensed Behavioral Health Professional – Sex Offender Specialist for a contractual, as‑needed role providing mental health services to children and adolescents in a juvenile detention center setting. This position involves supporting youth experiencing a variety of mental health challenges, such as anxiety, depression, and ADHD, while providing specialized interventions for behaviors of concern.
This is a contractual, as‑needed role with flexible scheduling based on site needs.
Onboarding and required training are expected to begin in February 2026, with staff assuming their full clinical roles effective
March 1, 2026 .
Key Responsibilities
Conduct individual therapy and assessments for 8–12 youth
Complete psychosocial evaluations as needed
Create and review treatment plans every 6 months
Participate in individual and group supervision
Attend clinical staff meetings as scheduled
Perform other duties as assigned
Education, Licensure & Qualifications
Master’s Degree in Counseling, Psychology, or Social Work
Licensed in the state of Maryland in good standing (LCSWC, LMSW, LGPC, or LCPC)
Minimum of 3 years counseling experience
Experience working with children and adolescents in a juvenile detention center required
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and internet‑based systems
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Willing to complete a federal and state background check
Reliable transportation

Our multidisciplinary team provides high‑quality psychotherapy, psychiatric rehabilitation, and medication management grounded in trauma‑informed and client‑centered care.
As part of our strategic expansion, ITS is extending mental health services throughout Department of Juvenile Services (DJS) centers across Maryland. This expansion reflects our mission to increase access to high‑quality behavioral health care for justice‑involved youth while creating meaningful opportunities for clinicians to contribute to systems‑level impact, professional growth, and community‑based change.
