We’re representing a multinational commercial bank seeking a
VP, Loan Operations
to own end-to-end lifecycle execution for a diversified book of
bilateral and syndicated loans
across C&I, CRE, leveraged finance, and sponsor portfolios. This leader will tighten controls, raise STP, and modernize processes while partnering with front office, credit, treasury, and risk to deliver a clean, fast, audit-proof operation.
What You’ll Do
Run the shop:
Lead daily loan servicing, booking, closings/fundings, rate sets, resets, rollovers, paydowns, fees, amortization, and end-of-day reconciliations.
Syndicated agency & participant flows:
Oversee notices, waterfall distributions, LSTA mechanics, secondary trade settlements, and compliance with credit agreements.
Documentation & controls:
Ensure perfection of collateral, UCCs, covenants, guarantees, KYC, and conditions precedent/subsequent; maintain SOX-ready process evidence.
Platform ownership:
Direct system configuration and control design across
Loan IQ/ACBS/WSO
or equivalent; steward reference data, product hierarchies, and rate indices (SOFR, base, primes).
Risk & compliance:
Maintain strong first-line controls aligned to
OCC/FDIC , LSTA standards, OFAC/AML screening, and internal policy; drive issue remediation and MRAs to closure.
Change & automation:
Deliver workflow redesign, straight-through processing, RPA/API integrations, and digitized notices; build KPIs, SLAs, and aged-break dashboards.
Stakeholder leadership:
Partner with RMs, underwriting, credit admin, treasury, finance, legal, and audit; act as escalation point for high-value or time-critical events.
People leadership:
Manage, mentor, and upskill a high-performing team; set coverage model, QC routines, and capacity planning.
Quality & reconciliation:
Own break management across GL, nostro, custody, and position records; reduce aged breaks and exception queues.
Lifecycle change events:
Coordinate waivers, amendments, restructurings, extensions, and fee events; ensure precise reflection in systems and client communications.
What You Bring
8–12+ years
in commercial loan operations within a bank or administrator; deep hands-on experience across bilateral and syndicated products.
Expert knowledge of
credit agreements, LSTA standards, agency mechanics, covenants, collateral,
and fee/interest calculations.
Strong platform experience with
Loan IQ
(preferred) or
ACBS/WSO , plus advanced Excel; SQL/Python a plus.
Proven record designing
controls, KPIs/SLAs,
and closing audit and regulatory findings.
Demonstrated leadership of teams and change programs, including
process optimization and automation
initiatives.
Crisp communication, stakeholder management, and escalation judgment under tight timelines.
Nice to Have
Exposure to
leveraged loans, CRE construction draws, asset-based lending, trade finance , or cross-border bookings.
Familiarity with
RPA/API , workflow tools, and report automation; experience migrating from LIBOR to
SOFR .
Background interfacing with
treasury/liquidity, finance/GL,
and
credit risk
for limit and RWA impacts.
