Description The candidate will be responsible for creating, leading and growing Stellar’s enterprise-wide sustainability strategy and programs and, therefore, must possess the appropriate technical, analytical, and collaborative skillsets to drive sustainable practices into all phases of the planning, design, and construction process. Project management and leadership experience is a must. The candidate must possess solid communication and presentation skills and serve as a strategic partner to departmental and executive leaders, driving measurable reductions in sustainability and environmental impact while strengthening Stellar’s competitive advantage. The candidate’s core technical skills should include mechanical and electrical design knowledge, as well as the environmental sciences, within multiple markets like; industrial, manufacturing, healthcare, institutional, and food. Experience conducting life-cycle analyses, energy modeling, and carbon footprint calculations, along with experience with energy efficiency and renewable technologies such as CHP, are required. A deep understanding of state and federal regulations, along with the ability to quickly ascertain local regulations is vital, as is an awareness of building codes related to energy efficiency and environmental compliance. Familiarity with green building certifications such as LEED, Green Globes, etc. The ability to analyze environmental data and model energy performance using statistical tools such as Python or R, as well as some basic production skills, i.e., the use of AutoCAD, Revit, and BIM for sustainable design would be beneficial.

Duties/Responsibilities: A minimum of 10 years of architectural or engineering experience is required.

A minimum of 7 years of sustainability experience.

An AIA or PE license, in good standing, is required in at least one state.

LEED Accreditation is required.

Up to 20% travel may be required.
