Description This role is all about making systems that have never been made before. Working with cross-functional engineering teams to define precision actuators, build them, verify their performance, and integrate them into systems. This role requires an engineer who can coordinate effectively across organizations, some international. You will be expected to understand the key role these actuators play, and to own their end-to-end life cycle while balancing risk and schedule.
Responsibilities
Work with actuator design team on system-level actuator requirements
Work with actuator vendor to monitor yields and reliability at builds
Work with actuator design team and assembly house to support assembly of actuator into module, along with calibration and programming of module
Define and document module-level test plans
Work with assembly house on to implement module-level test plan through test station design, bringup, and early build support
Work with cross-functional team to integrate module into systems, including post-integration validation and testing
Travel internationally for build support
Minimum Qualifications
BS in EE or related field
Experience with supporting factory builds
Experience with test planning and documentation of electro-mechanical modules
Experience with standard lab equipment(e.g. multimeters, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers)
Preferred Qualifications
3+ years of post-undergraduate experience in electrical engineering
Skilled with electro-mechanical control systems measurement and analysis
Skilled with creating and using sophisticated test setups for validation of high performance VCM-based actuators
Experience with statistical data analysis
Familiarity with position sensing approaches
Ability to develop firmware for actuator driver ICs
Exposure to various system modeling and simulation tools, such as ANSYS, Verilog A/MS, Simulink, COMSOL
Familiarity with systems that include sensitive analog/mixed-signal circuits, FPGAs, and embedded microcontrollers
At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $147,400 and $272,100, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
