You’ll collaborate with various organizations, including architecture, design, design verification, system, software and security teams, to create comprehensive content that thoroughly validates and stress‑tests our designs, ensuring correct operation from functional, performance, and security perspectives.
Description You will be leading a team of engineers and engineering managers responsible for bringup, validation and debug of various IP blocks and SOC subsystems in pre‑silicon and silicon phases of chip development. Starting from concept and architectural specification review, guide the team to come up with validation test plans, develop and deliver required software frameworks and tests ranging from bare‑metal and synthetic RTOS environments to full‑featured OS, drivers and applications. Drive the team to bringup and comprehensively validate the SOC in system, prioritizing new features in time for next silicon tapeout.Engage in the technical details of all aspects of the position and organization, providing technical guidance internally while accurately representing the team with executives and partner organizations. Build and cultivate relationships needed to converge on the best solutions. Promote Apple culture while cultivating a team culture that's aligned to business needs, developing the managers and engineers across your organization. Process and prioritize work across multiple concurrent projects through proactive and real‑time assessments and detailed planning.
Minimum Qualifications
BS and 20+ years of relevant industry experience
Experience managing teams of 15+ engineers
Experience with project planning and resource allocation
Demonstrated experience managing software engineering teams
Strong computer architecture and computer science foundation
Preferred Qualifications
Familiarity with multiple programming and scripting languages (e.g., C, C++, Python)
Experience as a software engineer with a strong understanding of the software development lifecycle and engineering best practices
Experience with silicon or platform bringup, validation and debug
Demonstrated ability to grow and develop managers and senior technical contributors
Ability to work effectively across functions and organizations
Ability to present plans, status and issues to executive leadership
Track record of driving process improvements.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $228,100 and $393,800, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
