HDR is hiring: Senior Solid Waste Engineer (PE) in Juneau

Senior Solid Waste Engineer (PE) Join to apply for the Senior Solid Waste Engineer (PE) role at HDR. HDR is seeking a Senior Solid Waste Engineer to join our Solid Waste Practice in the Anchorage, Alaska office. The primary duties of this position include all aspects of engineering and project management for projects primarily focused on municipal solid waste (MSW), industrial waste, and recycling industries, with an emphasis on system planning, engineering analysis, cost estimating, design, construction management, pollution control systems, and permitting/regulatory compliance. Specific duties will include planning, design, permitting, and construction administration of landfill and monofil liner and final cover systems, storm water controls, groundwater monitoring and remediation networks, leachate management systems, landfill gas collection and control systems, and site layout/infrastructure elements (utilities, roads, support buildings, soil borrow areas, etc.). As part of the Waste sector, you’ll help shape solid waste infrastructure and environmental stewardship. You’ll collaborate closely with clients and communities to design sustainable, cost‑effective systems that contribute to cleaner environments and healthier communities. Preferred Qualifications Minimum 5 years of solid waste engineering experience Minimum 10 years of general civil/environmental engineering experience Civil/environmental engineering experience with an emphasis on MSW facility design, permitting, and construction Proven leadership and project management skills Familiarity with AutoCAD Civil 3D Local candidates are preferred Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree Minimum of 10 years design experience managing various civil/site design projects Professional Engineer (PE or P.Eng) license Project engineering and project management experience Actively participates in an employee‑owned culture At HDR, we are committed to the principles of employment equity.
