Description We are looking for a dedicated Accounting Clerk to join our team in Syracuse, New York. This Contract to permanent position offers an opportunity to contribute to essential accounting functions, including managing accounts payable, accounts receivable, and supporting financial operations. The ideal candidate will bring strong organizational skills and attention to detail to ensure smooth and accurate financial processes. Responsibilities:
- Process invoices and vouchers with accuracy and efficiency in the accounting system.
- Assist in purchasing activities by creating purchase orders, obtaining quotes, and tracking deliveries.
- Manage accounts receivable tasks, including generating invoices, following up on overdue payments, and handling collections.
- Reconcile vendor statements and address discrepancies by collaborating with internal teams.
- Maintain accurate financial records and assist with month-end reconciliation processes.
- Provide administrative and accounting support to the finance team as needed.
- Ensure timely and accurate data entry for financial transactions.
- Collaborate with team members to improve accounting workflows and systems. Requirements - High school diploma required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is preferred.
- 0-2 years of experience in accounting, bookkeeping, or a related field.
- Familiarity with accounting software such as QuickBooks and proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational abilities.
- Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks with efficiency.
- Effective communication skills to liaise with vendors and team members.
- Knowledge of accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) processes.
- Experience with data entry and invoice processing.
