The Staff Accountant is primarily responsible for the accounts payable function, ensuring timely and accurate processing of payments, vendor management, and compliance reporting. This role encompasses the full spectrum of AP activities, management of the company credit card program, fixed asset schedules, and support for both internal and external audits. The Staff Accountant will play a key role in supporting a general ledger system upgrade and drive process improvements in payment workflows and compliance.
Prepare weekly General AP and Claims AP Runs, ensuring accurate coding, proper documentation, up-to-date vendor addresses, and finalized signoffs.
+ Provide documentation and training to Finance and IT teams, supporting a General Ledger system upgrade and transition to a new AP System; Process payments and reimbursements for Board and Committee members.
+ Review and validate Concur reimbursement requests, concentrating on the corporate AMEX card program; deliver staff training, ongoing support, and user account maintenance including approval workflows.
+ Prepare and post monthly and ad hoc journal entries related to AP, including reconciliations for prepaids, leases, and fixed assets (Sage FAS).
+ Interpret and apply accounting policies to ensure compliance with all relevant standards.
+ Partner with Finance Operations Team to develop and maintain process documentation and Desktop Procedures.
+ Work with IT to test and implement software updates and upgrades.
+ Cross-train in Accounts Receivable, Cash Management, and additional finance operations to provide back-up support as needed.
+ Promote best practices and seek opportunities for continuous process improvement.
+ The salary range for this position is $60,000 to $90,000 + discretionary bonus.

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
+ Experience with accounts payable, vendor management, and payment processing.
+ Proficiency in accounting systems and tools (e.g., Sage FAS, Concur, ACH/wire reconciliation).
+ Strong written and verbal communication skills, including documentation and training delivery.
+ Ability to adapt in a changing technology environment and drive process improvements.
