Position Summary:

Zawyer Sports & Entertainment , in Greensboro, are looking for a high-energy, results-driven Account Executive to help build and engage our fan base in the Greensboro region. As a key member of our sales team, you will generate excitement and drive revenue by selling full and partial season ticket packages, group outings, and partnerships to individuals and businesses. This role also includes servicing current ticket holders and ensuring their experience exceeds expectations.

In addition to representing the Greensboro Gargoyles, the selected candidate will also be responsible for generating revenue across Zawyer Sports' portfolio of properties in the Greensboro region. This is a unique opportunity to work across multiple brands and industries, all while playing a key role in shaping the future of sports and entertainment in the Carolinas.

About Zawyer Sports & Entertainment: Zawyer Sports & Entertainment owns and operates the Jacksonville Icemen, Savannah Ghost Pirates, Greensboro Gargoyles, Charlotte Checkers, Mobile Pro Hockey, Gastonia Ghost Peppers, the Community First Igloo, The UPSHOT League, a new professional women's basketball team plus the first four teams in the league - the Jacksonville Waves, Savannah Steel, The Greensboro Groove, and Charlotte Crown, and 32 Degrees Marketing, a full-service marketing agency. Also included in the Zawyer Sports family are the Tahoe Knight Monsters, Augusta Pro Hockey, and Ghost Pirates Ice Cove, whom ZSE consults on operations for. Zawyer Sports & Entertainment was founded by Andy Kaufmann in 2018 and is headquartered in Jacksonville, FL.

About the Greensboro Groove:

The Greensboro Groove are a professional women's basketball team and a proud Founding Four Member of the UPSHOT League. Based in Greensboro, NC, the Crown are a brand-new team looking to make an impact in the community and women's professional sports.

Key Responsibilities:

Make 70+ outbound contacts daily via phone, email, text, and in-person to sell:
  • Full and partial season ticket packages
  • Group tickets
  • Individual game tickets
  • Entry-level corporate partnerships
  • Handle inbound calls and inquiries for ticket sales and customer service.
  • Actively prospect new business through networking, referrals, social platforms, and research.
  • Conduct in-person sales presentations, arena tours, and off-site appointments.
  • Staff sales tables and community events to promote ticket packages and drive leads.
  • Maintain detailed records of all interactions using CRM software.
  • Meet or exceed weekly and monthly individual sales goals.
  • Assist in the renewal process and servicing of existing accounts.
  • Build lasting relationships with clients through exceptional service and communication.
Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • A passion for the sports industry and a strong desire to grow professionally.
  • Willingness to learn, be coached, and maintain a positive attitude.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Willingness to work non-traditional hours including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Exemplify the core characteristics of a strong sales culture, including strong interpersonal skills, prompt and professional follow-through, openness to new ideas and suggestions, and constant enthusiasm toward internal and external contacts
  • Communicate effectively and professionally with all internal and external contacts
  • Support a positive sales culture within the sales team, as well as the entire front office
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by the leadership group.
Game & Event Responsibilities:

  • Expected to attend and work all Greensboro Gargoyles and Groove games (start date May, 2026) home games (approx. 50 annually).
  • Interact with clients and prospects at games via seat visits, networking, and sales tables.
  • Assist with the development and execution of in-game promotions and fan experiences.
