R0007434The Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) for Student Health Services, will play a crucial role in delivering comprehensive healthcare services. Operating under the collaborative agreement with the Medical Director of Student Health Services (SHS), the (APRN) will provide diagnosis, treatment, consultation, and follow-up care in accordance with the guidelines set forth by the Florida State Board of Nursing. (APRN) expertise will be instrumental in offering specialized and population-appropriate medical care to the university community, ensuring optimal health outcomes for students. In the absence of the Director, assumes oversight of Student Health Services.
This position is in- person# Essential Functions* Serves as the primary care provider for all members of the university student population. Employing a holistic methodology, they craft treatment plans incorporating evidence-based practices, education, and training. Their approach integrates preventive measures and health promotion strategies into patient care, offering counseling and education on various health concerns. Additionally, they are responsible for ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests essential for devising precise clinical treatment plans, while also maintaining electronic clinical records, forms, and facilitating e-prescriptions.* Performs women’s health services and appropriate diagnoses, treatment, and follow-up care.* Oversees health care standing orders provided by the RNs in the SHS through clinical guidance and adherence to written protocols.* Works collaboratively with various areas of the University by serving as a health resource educator, providing targeted health promotion programs.* Serves as a clinical preceptor for Barry University’s graduate nurse practitioner students.# Qualifications/Requirements* A Master's degree is required - MS, APRN.* 3-5 years of relevant experience.* Advanced experience with EMR system and MS Office Suite* Orders and maintains on-site Dispensary according to the limits of prescribing under the licensee.* New graduates will be considered with prior experience as an RN with ER or ICU experience.Benefits: Barry University offers a comprehensive benefits package to full-time employees that includes health, dental, vision, life insurance, retirement, tuition assistance, paid time off and work/life balance initiatives such as wellness programs, spirituality in the workplace, and training and development.Barry University is an Equal Opportunity Employer, committed to a diverse and inclusive work environment.Barry University is a private Catholic institution with a history of academic excellence.
