Position Overview
The Sterile Processing Technologist is responsible for ensuring the proper cleaning, sterilization, and maintenance of surgical instruments and scopes used in various procedures. This role supports patient safety and infection control standards by adhering to established protocols and guidelines.
Key Responsibilities Perform decontamination, cleaning, assembly, and sterilization of surgical instruments and scopes. Handle general surgical instruments, ENT instruments, orthopedic sets, and GI scopes. Inspect instruments for functionality and integrity before and after sterilization. Maintain accurate records of sterilization cycles and equipment maintenance. Collaborate with surgical and GI teams to ensure timely availability of sterile instruments. Follow all infection control and safety standards.
Required Qualifications High School Diploma/GED or equivalent. Minimum
1 year of experience
in a Sterile Processing Department or GI Lab. Knowledge of sterilization techniques and infection control practices.
Preferred Skills Experience with GI scope processing and handling. Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities. Strong attention to detail and adherence to safety protocols.
