The University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) School of Medicine and UCSF Benioff Children's Hospitals seeks faculty for the Division of Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology, and Nutrition. Positions will be appointed at the Instructor, Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor rank in the Adjunct, Clinical X, Health Sciences (HS) Clinical, or In Residence series. Academic rank will be commensurate with experience.
Position Overview Selected candidates will join UCSF’s leading academic medical center and an NIH‑funded GI fellowship training program. The role involves clinical care, teaching, and research across pediatric GI, hepatology, and nutrition with opportunities on the San Francisco and Oakland campuses.
Minimum Qualifications
MD, DO, or equivalent degree, eligible for California licensure.
Board certification or eligibility in Pediatrics and Pediatric Gastroenterology; recent fellowship graduates may be board‑eligible.
Completion of an accredited fellowship in Pediatric Gastroenterology with clinical competency in pediatric GI, hepatology, and nutrition.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience teaching and supervising medical students, residents, and fellows.
Strong clinical and procedural skills in pediatric gastroenterology, endoscopy, hepatology, and related diagnostics or interventions.
Evidence of scholarly activity—peer‑reviewed publications, clinical research, or presentations—in pediatric GI, hepatology, or nutrition.
Interest or experience in academic pediatrics, including curriculum development, quality improvement, or leadership roles.
Experience in multidisciplinary or collaborative care models (e.g., surgery, hepatology, nutrition).
Additional subspecialty training or focus—such as IBD, advanced endoscopy, neurogastroenterology, or pediatric nutrition.
Effort & Salary For positions at 51% effort or more, the salary range is $114,100–$344,400 per year (minimum base). For positions at 50% effort or less, the range is $81,500–$246,000. All positions include membership in the Health Sciences compensation plan, which provides eligibility for additional compensation.
