Position Overview
The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, Department of Internal Medicine, Division of Digestive and Liver Diseases, is seeking a gastroenterologist to serve as the Medical Director of the Inflammatory Bowel Diseases Program.
This position is security-sensitive and subject to Texas Education Code 51.215, which authorizes UT Southwestern to obtain criminal history record information.
Qualifications
MD or equivalent degree from an accredited CME medical school.
Successful completion of an Internal Medicine residency and gastroenterology fellowship accredited by ACGME.
Eligibility for a Texas medical license.
Board certification in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology.
Appointment rank will be commensurate with academic accomplishments and experience.
Consideration may be given to applicants seeking less than a full‑time schedule.
Responsibilities
Oversee the planned expansion of the inflammatory bowel disease practice.
Provide patient care in IBD and general GI care as a practicing gastroenterologist.
Teach and train medical students, residents, and fellows.
Contribute to program development and quality improvement initiatives.
