About the Role As a member of the global communications and marketing team at SoftBank Investment Advisers [manager of the SoftBank Vision Funds], you will play a pivotal role in shaping how SoftBank communicates its mission, brand, and impact. You’ll help educate and engage entrepreneurs, reporters, opinion leaders, policymakers, and our employees around the world on how SoftBank accelerates the advancement of technology for the benefit of humanity.

You will also partner closely with the SoftBank Group ecosystem and SoftBank Vision Fund portfolio companies, helping them manage their reputations and share their stories with the world.

This role reports to the Global Head of Communications and Marketing for SoftBank Investment Advisers. The successful candidate will bring experience in corporate communications and brand marketing within the technology and/or financial services sectors, complemented by political, governmental, or campaign experience that demonstrates an ability to navigate complex stakeholder environments. They will have a strong understanding of policy and its intersection with communications and stakeholder messaging, a passion for technology, and a constant desire to learn in a fast-paced, global environment.

Responsibilities

Develop and execute integrated communications, brand marketing, and policy engagement initiatives across global markets to advance SoftBank’s reputation and mission.

Protect and enhance SoftBank’s reputation across audiences, anticipating and addressing issues that may impact the business or its portfolio.

Serve as a company spokesperson where appropriate and manage high-profile media interactions.

Build and maintain deep relationships with reporters, opinion leaders, and policymakers.

Prepare and advise executives for media engagements, speaking opportunities, and public appearances.

Manage communications for portfolio company funding announcements, M&A activity, and Vision Fund components of quarterly earnings.

Oversee global social media strategy and content development in coordination with the SoftBank Group social media team.

Lead global internal communications to align employees with strategic objectives and foster a connected, high-performance culture.

Oversee agency relationships, vendor management, budgeting, and communications metrics.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience (8+ years) in corporate communications, brand marketing, and public affairs, including political, government, and campaign experience that demonstrates fluency in stakeholder engagement and message strategy.

Proven track record developing and executing global communications strategies in fast-paced, high-growth, or complex organizations.

Experience working in both agency and in-house environments is advantageous.

Demonstrated ability to collaborate across geographies and cultures with a global mindset.

Exceptional strategic thinking, writing, and storytelling skills — with the ability to simplify complex ideas for diverse audiences.

Comfortable working under pressure with competing demands, while maintaining precision and judgment.

Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree or relevant international experience a plus.

Willingness to travel internationally as needed.
