The Senior Software Engineer will design, implement, and maintain full‑stack solutions for PlayStation features on PlayStation 5, mobile platforms, and other supported hardware. The role emphasizes deep technical expertise, hands‑on experience, and development across the entire software stack. Key Responsibilities

Architect and develop complex projects across multiple teams to deliver new, innovative features. Develop high‑quality front‑end applications using React Native, ensuring performance standards and production readiness. Build and optimize back‑end services for speed, scalability, and responsiveness, hosting APIs to support new and existing features. Communicate proactively with collaborators on plans, schedules, and deliverables. Architect UI modules for different platforms, prioritizing scalability, maintainability, and architectural patterns such as MVC, MVVM, and MVP. Collaborate with Product Owners, Product Managers, and Designers to translate feature requirements into technical solutions. Own technology and shareable features across large projects or several smaller projects. Produce thorough design, architecture, and development documentation. Improve processes, propose guidelines, and drive technical excellence within the team. Partner with QA engineers to ensure test coverage and verify test plans. Write unit and component tests, focusing on stability, maintainability, and regression prevention. Debug issues efficiently and collaborate with the team for resolutions. Mentor team members, review pull requests, design plans, and participate in architectural discussions. Communicate development strategy and technical subjects to globally distributed teams. Required Qualifications

Must relocate to the San Diego area. Bachelor’s degree in computer science plus 5 years of experience or equivalent. 5+ years of end‑to‑end development experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Node.js, React Native, Java core libraries, and web server applications. Experience with mobile development in iOS (Objective‑C/Swift) or Android (Java/Kotlin). Proficient with Python, Go, scripting, and functional languages. Experience with contemporary Java frameworks like Spring Boot or equivalent micro‑service architectures. Expert‑level object‑oriented design knowledge and passion for writing high‑quality, well‑architected code. Experience building high‑performance, cloud‑based scalable web services. Hands‑on experience with cloud‑deployed services hosting APIs, caching layers, event buses, and backend processes. Strong engineering procedures: secure, scalable code, unit tests, code reviews, documentation. Ability to provide periodic on‑call duty and respond to out‑of‑band requests. Preferred Qualifications

Strong independent problem‑solving skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proven ability to learn quickly and tackle new challenges. Independent work ethic and ability to deliver on critical timelines. Ability to work quickly and efficiently in a challenging environment.
