Position Summary
The University of North Carolina School of Medicine is seeking a clinical faculty member to practice within a multi‑specialty academic practice in Wilmington, NC.
This team is part of an innovative partnership between UNC Health, UNC School of Medicine and Novant Health, providing specialty care to children from communities throughout southeastern and coastal North Carolina.
The Novant Health – New Hanover Regional Medical Center (NH‑NHRMC) is a full‑spectrum community‑based multispecialty practice and a children’s hospital featuring a 45‑bed Level III NICU, a Pediatric Intensive Care Unit, and an inpatient pediatric unit, serving as the tertiary care referral center for the region.
The successful candidate will join two other pediatric neurologists based at the Wilmington campus and will be expected to develop and perform clinical activities in surrounding outreach locations throughout southeastern NC.
The role offers collaboration with medical students, health‑profession students, and residents, with additional research opportunities.
The position is a full‑time, open‑rank clinical faculty role on a fixed‑term track, with the option of part‑time service.
Salary will be aligned to community‑based specialist rates and the benefit package is extremely generous, including incentive compensation tied to performance targets.
Wilmington is a vibrant coastal community of approximately 125,000 residents offering a moderate, four‑season climate, historic preservation district, cultural events, and nearby beaches.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements Board certified or eligible in Neurology with Special Qualification in Child Neurology.
Ability to interpret electroencephalograms (EEGs) is required.
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience Additional training in either sleep medicine or epilepsy is preferred but not required.
