JMT's Florida Construction Management Team is seeking a CEI Senior Project Engineer to be responsible for managing Construction Inspection business in the assigned region.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
Responsible for marketing and business development for transportation construction projects within the central region of Florida
Manage contracts, including invoicing and financial management, as well as project management and overall project performance
Responsible for project QA/QC in the assigned region
Manage internal JMT staff and subconsultants
Participate in client presentations
Maintain and build client relationships
Prepare technical and price proposals
Hire, train, develop, and conduct performance reviews for staff
Nonessential Functions and Responsibilities
Assists design disciplines with constructability questions/issues
Perform other related duties as assigned
Required Skills
Must successfully complete and pass JMT's Motor Vehicle screening
Required Experience
Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a related field from an ABET accredited engineering program
Six (6) years of engineering experience
Two (2) of those years involved in relevant transportation projects
Exception: Five (5) years for Complex Category 2 (CC2) and PTS bridge structures
A Master's Degree in Engineering may be substituted for one (1) year engineering experience.
Professional Engineer (PE) registered in the State of Florida
Ability to obtain endorsement in the State of Florida within six months of Project NTP if registered in another state
Proficient in discipline specific design software
Proficient in Microsoft Office
Written and communication skills
Presentation skills
Qualifications / Certifications
FDOT Advanced MOT
CTQP Quality Control Manager (Attend and pass the examination)
To be achieved by Project NTP, if CEI Project Administrator/Project Engineer holds qualification at time of proposal
Abilities / Responsibilities
Ability to: Communicate effectively in English (verbally and in writing)
Responsible for: Directing a highly complex and specialized construction engineering administration and inspection program;
Responsible for: Planning and organizing the work of subordinate and staff members;
Responsible for: Developing and/or reviewing policies, methods, practices, and procedures;
Responsible for: Reviewing programs for conformance with Department standards.
Working Conditions Work is performed within a general office environment. Work is generally sedentary in nature, but may require occasional standing and walking. Lighting and temperature are adequate and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. within the office environment.
Field work is required on occasions where work may be conducted outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions. Some lifting (up to 25 lbs) may be required as needed.
Travel required.
