Assembly Process Engineer Location
Boulder, Colorado Responsibilities
Serves as a technical subject matter expert for optical assembly processes. Supports the transition of new optical assemblies from prototype to full-rate production. Conducts analyses to assess and validate assembly processes and tool designs. Creates and improves documentation for the manufacture of optical assemblies. Trains technicians on the use of tools and processes for current and transitioning assemblies. Supports troubleshooting of existing assembly tools and processes. Monitors and drives improvement of production assembly processes using Statistical Process Control. Supports procurement and quality with supplier evaluation and selection. Other duties as assigned. Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field (Physics, Optics, etc.). Advanced degree desirable. 7+ years experience in optics-related field desirable. Proficiency with SolidWorks or other CAD software desirable. Experience with adhesive selection and troubleshooting desirable. Proficiency with optical modeling software such as Zemax, Code V, FRED desirable. Experience with optical alignment and bonding desirable. Experience with automation programming (PC and/or PLC) desirable. Experience with structured problem-solving tools (8D, DMAIC, etc.). Proficiency with Statistical Process Control. Benefits
