Overview Responsible for providing direct inpatient clinical care and managing medical problems of acutely ill, hospitalized, adult, non-surgical patients. The hospitalist leads the interdisciplinary team to improve efficiency and facilitate continuum of care for patients from admission through discharge. This continuum of care includes general adult medicine, internal medicine consults as requested, critical care management and management of patients with comorbidities. The hospitalist will carry out assigned duties displaying the highest standards of ethical and moral conduct as well as acting in the best interest of Sentara Medical Group and Sentara Healthcare, supporting our mission, vision and values to optimize the health and well‑being of our patients.
Residency and board certification must be in an area of specialty. Board‑eligible physicians will be considered. Certification must be obtained within four years of eligibility.
