Position Overview The Department of Neurology at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center is recruiting a Neurocritical Care Clinical & Faculty Physician to complement our established neurologists and support the growth of our neurocritical care program. The Neurocritical Care Physician will manage patients with acute neurological disorders in the neurocritical care units, acute stroke and telestroke services, and provide consultation to emergency and other critical care units. Department/Division Overview The Department of Neurology at OSUWMC consists of 15 divisions, 63 physicians, 5 psychologists, 12 dedicated research faculty, 24 residents, and 14 fellows. We provide care across 7 ambulatory facilities and 3 hospitals, with an 18‑bed neurocritical care unit, a 30‑bed stroke ward, and an expanding tele‑neurology service. Our telestroke network includes 32 affiliated hospitals. With $15.5 million in annual research funding, we focus on neurogenetics, neuroimmunology, and neurodegenerative medicine. We also offer 10 prestigious clinical fellowships and international training.

Duties and Responsibilities

Serves as preceptor and provides bedside training for residents, fellows, medical students, and allied health professionals.

Performs bedside intensive care unit procedures as assigned.

Provides direct and indirect patient care in the University Hospital and James Neurocritical Care units, and consults on stroke and telestroke services.

Performs other duties and call assignments as defined by the Chair or designee.

Ensures continuing medical education requirements are met; participates in committees and service activities.

Directs and participates in quality assessment and improvement activities.

Practice within established Medical Center policies and protocols, adhering to key results areas.

Requirements

MD or DO.

Successful completion of an accredited Neurology Residency Program.

Board Certified or Board Eligible in Neurology.

Completion of a Neurocritical Care Fellowship.

Board Certified or eligible in neurocritical care.

Eligible for an Ohio Medical License.
