Responsibilities NORTON NEUROSCIENCE INSTITUTE, a part of Norton Healthcare, is seeking a fellowship-trained physician with an interest in a neurocritical care opportunity. Norton Healthcare operates the area's largest comprehensive stroke care system, with four adult-service hospitals accredited by The Joint Commission. They include two Primary Stroke Centers and one Acute Stroke Ready Center, as well as one Comprehensive Stroke Center: Norton Brownsboro Hospital in northeast Louisville. The Norton Brownsboro Hospital campus is Norton Healthcare's flagship for neuroscience care, with a level 4 Comprehensive Epilepsy Center and six-bed epilepsy monitoring unit, the Brain Tumor Center and Cressman Parkinson's Center. The ideal candidate will join a team of neurologists, neurosurgeons and advanced practice providers at Norton Brownsboro Hospital, which serves as a regional referral destination. The neurocritical care team uses a multidisciplinary approach and works with some of the over 130 adult and pediatric neuroscience specialists who are part of Norton Neuroscience Institute.

Norton Neuroscience Institute is the leading provider for neuroscience services in the area. Our neurology critical care program has strong established referral patterns from other Norton Neuroscience Institute neurologists, providers within Norton Medical Group (Norton Healthcare's employed physician group), and community providers seeking tertiary expertise throughout the region.

7 on/7 off schedule

No mandatory trauma care

Job Responsibilities: The physician is responsible for recording a detailed medical history of each patient in the electronic medical record, including, but not limited to, chief complaint, present condition, individual history, and family history. Performing appropriate physical examination of each patient. Analyzing reports and/or findings of tests and personal examinations in order to assess the medical condition of the patient, including diagnosing the patient's injury or illness and formulating a prognosis.
