Description Physician Affiliate Group of New York (PAGNY) is adding a Colorectal Surgeon to the group at NYC Health + Hospitals/Metropolitan. Metropolitan Hospital is a full-service community hospital that provides state-of-the-art care and leading-edge technology in a modern environment. We provide culturally sensitive care to patients from all five New York City boroughs in a welcoming and hospitable setting and utilizing the latest advances in medical science.

Opportunity Details:

Diagnose and treat a broad range of benign and malignant colon and anorectal conditions in both elective and emergency settings

Perform advanced surgical procedures, including minimally invasive and robotic-assisted surgeries

Participate in colorectal cancer screening and surveillance programs (including diagnostic colonoscopy and polypectomy)

Manage conditions such as:

Colorectal cancer: Anal cancer, carcinomatosis, colon cancer, rectal cancer, recurrent rectal cancer

Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD): Crohn's disease, perianal Crohn's, ulcerative colitis, indeterminate colitis

Collaborate with gastroenterology, oncology, radiology, pathology, and other specialties in patient care

Provide inpatient consults and manage pre- and post-operative care

Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and adherence to evidence-based practices

Participate in hospital tumor boards and multidisciplinary case reviews

Engage in teaching opportunities with a strong surgical residency training program and medical students

Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR) system

Provide care for patients presenting with emergent general surgical conditions as part of the Emergency General Surgery (EGS) on-call coverage

Participate in the Emergency General Surgery on-call schedule

Qualifications

Board Eligible or Board Certified in General Surgery & Colorectal Surgery

ACGME accredited Fellowship-trained in Colorectal SurgeryNCurrent and unrestricted NYS Medical License

DEA

BLS, ACLS, and ATLS certifications

NYS Infection Control Certificate

Preferred: Training in Laparoscopy with experience in robotic surgical platforms (e.g., da Vinci)

Preferred: Experience in High Resolution Anoscopy (HRA)

Wages and Benefits Annual Base Salary:

$334,000* (board eligible); $340,000* (board certified) based on 40-hour work week. Additional compensation available for extra call or sessional/per diem hours.

The annual total value of compensation package is estimated at $477,600** (board eligible) and $484,200** (board certified),

which includes the baseline salary, 401(k) contribution, sessional/per diem hours, and other factors as set forth below.

Estimated annual compensation for 10 additional sessional/per diem hours worked per week is $70,200

Projected bonus of up to $40,000 (based on previous year's average), contingent upon meeting quality and productivity targets.

401(k) Company Contribution (subject to IRS contribution limits):

Employees are immediately vested in a 3% company contribution of base earnings. No employee match is required.

After one year of service, employees receive an additional 7% company contribution of base earnings. No employee match is required.

Annual Continuing Medical Education (CME) Reimbursement.

Generous Annual Paid Time Off (PTO): Vacation, Sick, Holiday, and CME days.

Loan Forgiveness: Position may be eligible for loan forgiveness through certain state or federal programs.

Medical Malpractice Coverage (equivalent to occurrence-based): Provided at no cost to the employee.

Pre-tax employee-paid contributions for commuting expenses.

Visa sponsorship will be considered for this position.
