Google is looking for a UX Design Manager to lead design for Google Photos. The role involves defining strategy, mentoring a high‑performing team, collaborating with product and engineering leaders, and overseeing end‑to‑end design.
Key Responsibilities
Define the long‑term UX outlook and strategy, driving robust, accessible, and performant design guidelines and toolkits.
Manage, mentor, and grow a high‑performing team of UX designers, setting clear performance goals and supporting career development.
Act as a design partner to product and engineering leadership, influencing strategic decisions and product roadmaps across multiple initiatives.
Oversee the end‑to‑end design process—from ideation and user research to prototyping, detailed specification, and implementation.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
8 years of experience in product design or UX.
3 years of experience leading design projects and managing teams.
Experience in visual design and prototyping.
Portfolio highlighting user‑centered design across Android, iOS, and web platforms.
Preferred Qualifications
3 years of work experience with executive leaders.
Experience designing mobile‑first applications with millions of users.
Experience designing and shipping complex, large‑scale consumer software or foundational design systems.
Understanding of visual media and image editing tools.
Ability to drive alignment and collaboration across geographically distributed teams.
Compensation & Benefits US base salary range: $178,000–$265,000 plus bonus, equity, and benefits. Additional compensation details will be provided during the hiring process.
