Gateway MER Integration Lead

to support the MTIC contract embedded with NASA-JSC.

Responsibilities

Co‑lead establishment of the Gateway Mission Evaluation Room (MER) and train to support the MER during real‑time operations

Lead or co‑lead Working Group meetings including MER Facility, MER Coordination, MER Leadership, Gateway Digital Architecture Team, and KSC Deep Space Logistics

Serve as the MER Anomaly Resolution Process Lead and document owner

Represent the GW MER in various working group meetings including joint meetings with the Flight Operations Directorate and other Gateway organizations (PPE, HALO, etc.)

Oversee documentation and training milestones, including Work Instructions, Guidelines, Console Certification, Paper Sims, and Integrated Sims. Lead the development of MER Work Instructions with contributions from new MER Managers

Ensure MER facility milestones are met, including activities such as voice loop setup, Mission Control access configuration, and other operational preparations

Collaborate with GW MER IT personnel to ensure MER tools, licenses, and related resources are secured and properly configured

Review Flight Rules for familiarization and to ensure appropriate console teams are identified as reviewers in preparation for Flight Rule Development Panel meetings

Coordinate with the Gateway Digital Architecture and Systems teams as schematics are developed for GW MER use

Perform other duties as required

Required Education, Experience, and Skills

BS Degree in Engineering from an accredited Engineering school, plus ten (10) years of appropriate work experience

BS Degree in Engineering from an accredited Engineering school, plus fifteen (15) years of appropriate work experience

Experience in the MER or real‑time flight operations

Knowledge of product life cycle development, systems engineering & integration principles, and knowledge of associated engineering disciplines

Excellent communication skills (in both written and verbal), integration, coordination, and presentation skills

Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with customers and stakeholders

Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint, Teams)

Preferred Education, Experience, and Skills

Working experience with Human Space Exploration programs (Gateway, ISS, Orion, etc.)

Working experience of associated engineering disciplines that integrate to address complex engineering systems Master of Science degree in Engineering

Knowledge of systems, tools, or initiatives that promote the digitization of the systems engineering & integration discipline, such as requirements management software (DOORS, DNG, JAMA, etc.), workflow management software (JIRA, Confluence, etc.), model based systems engineering software (Cameo, MagicDraw, etc.), or other digital tools (SharePoint, Confluence, etc.)

Experience with innovation or process improvements projects and initiatives

Ability to independently manage multiple tasks concurrently

Essential Requirements

Must be a U.S. Citizen and successfully complete a U.S. government background investigation

Ability to work outside normal schedule and adjust schedule to meet peak periods and surge requirements when required

Must be able to work in a team atmosphere

Grooming and dress must be appropriate for the position and must not impose a safety risk/hazard to the employee or others

This position may require some commuting and traveling to other installations as needed
