Under the supervision of the Admin Nurse III, the Dietitian Nutritionist will provide services related to medical nutrition therapy in the treatment and prevention of disease.

It provides clinical care to more than 31,000 patients annually and conducts basic science, clinical and outcomes research. Duties & Responsibilities
Assess nutritional, health and dietary needs of patients.
Develop meal plans for patients and evaluate the effects of meal plans, revising as needed.
Counsel patients on nutrition issues and healthy eating habits.
Document patient dietary and nutritional assessments and progress within the EMR.
Maintain regular nutrition counseling sessions with patients in person or virtually.
Provide ongoing communication between patient and family to ensure engagement and achievement of nutrition goals.
Attend division meetings with clinic support staff and providers.
Assist in developing and revising patient education materials.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of new concepts and advancements in dietetics and nutritional science research.
Consult with physicians and healthcare personnel to determine nutritional needs and diet restrictions of patients.
Participate in training and education of medical students, residents, RD students, and new hire RDs.
Develop, evaluate, and update nutrition care policies and procedures to achieve cost containment and improved patient outcomes.
Participate in research projects as assigned.
Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Possession of current Registered Dietitian licensure from the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulations and credentials and registration from the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) for the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
