Automation and Tools Engineer, Senior

Your Role The Cloud Development Platform team serves at the direction of the Sr. Director of Technical Engineering, enabling BSC's journey to the cloud. The Automation and Tools Engineer, Senior will report to the Sr. Manager of Technical Engineering. In this role you will design, build, and maintain our CI/CD aspect for our Internal Developer Platform (BlueStack), enabling operational excellence for Blue Shield of CA, our trading partners, and provider networks.

Your Knowledge and Experience

Requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience

Requires at least 5 years of prior relevant experience

Demonstrated expertise in designing, implementing, and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using BitBucket Pipelines

Experience with integrating CI/CD pipelines with REST API

Proven ability to implement database versioning and migration strategies using Flyway DB

Experienced operating GitOps principles and practices in enterprise-scale environments

Desired Qualifications

Hands-on experience deploying and managing containerized applications in Kubernetes across Azure and AWS environments using Argo CD

Knowledge of security automation and compliance integration within CI/CD pipelines

Experience with implementing and maintaining GitHub and GitHub Actions

Exposure to monitoring and observability tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or Datadog
