Position Overview MITRE leverages deep technical knowledge, engineering expertise, and prototyping capabilities to develop, evaluate, and test creative and practical solutions that facilitate technology transition and inform acquisition. In our electronic systems and engineering role we innovate and develop practical solutions in the areas of sensing, communications, processing, and more, and work across MITRE to define and deliver technical products to meet critical mission challenges.

Responsibilities As a recent graduate working in electrical or computer engineering, you will work with a team to apply your knowledge and gain experience with one or more of the following areas:

Electronic warfare

Antennas and electromagnetics

Sensors and radars

Photonics

Signal processing

Communications, SIGINT, spectrum, and position, navigation, and timing (PNT)

Electronics and embedded security

Rapid electronic and hardware prototyping, advanced manufacturing, design, mechanical and reliability analysis

Maritime system development, acoustic & ocean modeling, SONAR system analysis, and transducer design

Machine-sensing and perception

Basic Qualifications

Must have a Bachelor’s, Master’s or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or a related degree program

Knowledge of electrical engineering theory and one or more of the following: digital signal processing, wireless communications, computer architecture, embedded software, embedded security, cryptography, analog design, RF/EM, sensors and antennas, photonics, power systems, and software architecture and design

Sustained excellence in academic performance

Preferred Qualifications

Experience applying electrical engineering or computer engineering learning to an internship or research/lab position

Hands‑on skills in at least one or more programming languages

Demonstrated interest in serving the public

Clearance In addition to passing MITRE’s employment background check, you may be submitted for a U.S. Government Security clearance. This is determined by the Department of Defense’s adjudicative guidelines for receiving a clearance, to include U.S. citizenship. Other jobs may require vetting for various levels of agency public trust, fitness, suitability, controlled access, and special programs access determination consistent with the work program to which you are assigned.

This requisition requires the candidate to have or obtain, within one year from the date of hire, the following clearance(s):

Salary & Compensation $77,000 – $96,500 – $116,000 Annual
