Social Media Manager .

The Social Media Manager will be part of the Executive Office’s Communications Team and will lead a video-first social media program. This role is central to communicating the Executive’s priorities, engaging diverse communities, and supporting rapid response by delivering accurate, timely information on social media—often in fast-moving or high-visibility moments.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and lead a comprehensive social media strategy aligned with the Executive’s priorities, policy agenda, and communications goals.

Produce high-quality, video-first content across platforms (Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Facebook, X, LinkedIn), including writing scripts, filming, editing, captioning, and posting.

Create original content series that build cohesive narratives, deepen community engagement, and highlight the Executive’s fieldwork and initiatives.

Manage day-to-day content calendars and rapid response communications, including breaking news, emerging issues, and misinformation.

Tailor tone, format, and messaging for each platform based on best practices, audience behavior, and emerging features.

Collaborate closely with policy, communications, multimedia, and engagement teams to translate complex information into accessible storytelling.

Lead community management, including comment moderation protocols, proactive engagement, and building community trust.

Use analytics tools (e.g., native insights, Sprout) to evaluate performance, identify insights, and prepare regular reports for leadership.

Maintain a deep understanding of platform changes, algorithm shifts, and digital culture trends to keep the Executive’s Office ahead of the curve.

Ensure all content complies with accessibility standards, legal requirements, and public records retention rules.

In the office a minimum of 3 days a week. Meetings may not have a call-in option for required in-person days, and the expectation is to be in the office.

Bring an urgency to the work. We will start fast. The work will be intense, challenging, and incredibly rewarding.

Meetings will have written expectations, including an agenda with the goals and outcomes. Owners and next steps will be clear.

Ideal Candidate We are seeking a Social Media Manager who can creatively and engagingly communicate the Executive’s priorities across diverse audiences. The ideal candidate will have:

Digital storytelling capabilities and an understanding of how government, public trust, and community voice intersect online.

Demonstrated success managing social media for a public figure, government agency, nonprofit, or comparable high-visibility brand.

Expert understanding of platform-native content, especially short-form video (TikTok, Reels, Shorts).

Strong writing and editing skills with a focus on clarity, accessibility, and community storytelling.

Proficiency with video production workflows: filming, editing, audio balancing, on-screen graphics, captioning, and exporting.

Ability to translate policy and complex topics into compelling, community-centered storytelling.

Experience developing content series and repeatable formats that drive sustained engagement.

Strength in analytics and the ability to turn metrics into insights, recommendations, and strategy refinements.

Ability to operate in a fast-paced, politically sensitive environment with sound judgment and situational awareness.

Ability to work independently and be comfortable making real-time decisions in collaboration with communications leadership.

Comfort with public-facing roles: filming the Executive, interacting with community members, and attending events.
