Vice President Human Resources Operations
Reports To: Head of HR
The Vice President of Human Resources Operations is a high‑impact enterprise leader responsible for shaping the strategy, systems and infrastructure that power an exceptional employee experience. This executive oversees the full spectrum of People Operations—including HR technology, total rewards, workforce management, compliance and service delivery—with a mandate to develop scalable, data‑driven, future‑ready solutions that enhance organizational performance.
Serving as a strategic partner to senior leadership, the VP translates business priorities into operational excellence by aligning technology, analytics and people‑centered practices. This requires a forward‑thinking leader who thrives in complex environments, fosters cross‑functional collaboration, and elevates the experience of employees and leaders across diverse business units. The role demands exceptional judgment, innovation and the ability to architect systems that support culture, growth and long‑term sustainability.
A critical part of this role is deep expertise in data and analytics. The VP establishes governance frameworks, develops enterprise KPIs and ensures decision‑makers have accurate, real‑time insights. This position requires a leader who can transform workforce data into actionable insights, informing strategy, driving accountability and enhancing organizational clarity.
Key Responsibilities Strategic Leadership & Enterprise Alignment Lead the development and execution of an enterprise‑wide People Operations strategy that aligns with organizational goals and elevates culture. Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, ensuring operational frameworks, systems and policies enable scalability, compliance and employee engagement. Drive transformation through data‑informed decision‑making, integrated planning and cross‑functional partnership across Finance, IT, Legal, Operations and more.
People Systems & HR Technology Provide executive oversight for HR technology platforms (such as UKG and related HRIS/HCM systems), ensuring strong data integrity, seamless integration, automation and a user‑friendly experience. Lead the build‑out of enterprise dashboards, predictive analytics and reporting tools that support operational planning and strategic workforce insights. Champion digital enablement across all HR functions.
Workforce Management Oversee workforce management, payroll coordination, scheduling systems and labor optimization processes. Strengthen tools and workflows that ensure accuracy, compliance and efficient labor utilization. Partner with Finance and Operations to align labor forecasting with service, cost and growth objectives.
Employee Experience & Service Delivery Build and evolve a centralized HR Service Center that provides responsive, consistent support to employees and leaders. Implement service‑level standards, feedback loops and continuous‑improvement practices to enhance the employee journey. Lead innovative, technology‑driven solutions that simplify HR interactions and improve accessibility.
Governance, Compliance & Financial Management Ensure compliance with employment laws, wage and hour regulations and organizational policies. Oversee budgets, resource planning, vendor partnerships and financial forecasting across People Operations. Align governance frameworks, audit practices and reporting with legal and enterprise standards.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field; advanced degree preferred.
12–15+ years of progressive HR Operations leadership, including executive experience in complex or multi‑unit environments.
Demonstrated expertise in HR technology, total rewards, workforce management and compliance.
Strong analytical and financial acumen with a proven ability to leverage data to drive strategy and decision‑making.
Success leading transformation initiatives, optimizing systems and creating scalable processes.
Exceptional communication, relationship‑building and collaborative leadership skills.
Experience navigating union and non‑union environments is a plus.
Proven ability to lead high‑performing teams and create cultures of trust, accountability and continuous improvement.
