Clinical Nursing Director – Endoscopy, Tufts Medical Center Base pay range:

$162,773 – $207,541 per year.

Job Overview Tufts Medical Center seeks a Clinical Nursing Director reporting to our Executive Director of Perioperative Services and Endoscopy.

The Director will oversee the planning, development, coordination, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care, patient safety, quality outcomes, evidence‑based practices, and professional development of nursing staff.

The role collaborates with other disciplines to ensure procedures are well planned and services are fully integrated for a patient‑centered, safe approach to care.

The unit includes outpatient and inpatient GI procedures, including upper endoscopy, colonoscopy, ERCP, endoscopic ultrasound, and bariatric procedures, supported by 3 procedure rooms, 2 advanced procedure rooms, a manometry program, and a prep and recovery area.

Minimum Qualifications

Massachusetts RN Licensure.

7 years of RN experience, including at least 5 years of management experience.

Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).

Master’s Degree in Health Administration, Nursing, Business Administration, or related field.

Duties and Responsibilities

Initiates and manages change, ensuring appropriate support and resources to staff.

Creates opportunities for multidisciplinary forums to solve problems and facilitate planning.

Monitors and ensures excellence in the clinical practice of nursing and delivery of patient care on unit.

Integrates the nursing service philosophy into all unit practices and programs.

Maintains current literature regarding evolving practices, interventions, and research in patient care.

Utilizes a performance improvement process to assess response to care from patients, families, and others.

Provides leadership in setting the direction of the unit and is responsive to changing internal and external factors.

Maintains open communication with managers in supporting departments to ensure appropriate service levels.

Manages human, fiscal, and other resources to support clinical nursing practice and positive patient outcomes.

Leads development of quality‑driven and cost‑effective programs of care.

Monitors and critically analyzes resource utilization of the unit.

Collaborates with physicians, hospital administrators, and other stakeholders on delivery methods.

Ensures appropriate staffing plans for changing unit needs.

Applies knowledge of federal, state, and accreditation standards to direct patient care.

Oversees operating and capital budgets, implementing strategies to improve efficiency and reduce costs.

Creates and fosters a learning environment that facilitates professional growth of staff.

Oversees written policies and procedures.

Physical Requirements

Ability to sit for extended periods.

Occasional lifting of 5–15 lbs and turning patients.

Occasional twisting, bending, reaching, pushing/pulling, sitting, kneeling, and squatting.
