Job Purpose Lead, develop, and manage the project management team responsible for pump product development, ensuring the successful execution of strategic projects while driving continuous improvement of project management practices across the organization.
Job Summary The Program Manager oversees the full portfolio of pump product development projects, providing leadership, direction, and support to a team of project managers and coordinators. This role is accountable for aligning project execution with business objectives, optimizing project management processes, and fostering a high-performance culture. The Project Management Manager reports to the Director of Global Engineering and collaborates with senior leadership to set priorities, allocate resources, and drive organizational excellence.
Duties and Responsibilities
Lead, mentor, and manage a team of Project Managers providing coaching, development, and performance management
Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of all pump product development projects, ensuring alignment with company strategy, quality standards, and customer requirements
Develop and implement project management best practices, methodologies, and tools to optimize project delivery and team effectiveness
Allocate resources across projects, balancing priorities and resolving conflicts to ensure optimal team performance
Monitor project portfolio performance, providing regular updates, risk assessments, and recommendations to senior leadership
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance project management processes, tools, and team capabilities
Facilitate cross‑functional collaboration with engineering, manufacturing, quality, marketing, supply chain, and external partners
Lead project governance activities, including portfolio reviews, gate meetings, and lessons‑learned sessions
Serve as an escalation point for project risks, issues, and critical decisions
Support talent acquisition, onboarding, and professional development for the project management team
Represent the project management function in strategic planning, customer meetings, and industry forums as needed
Skills Required
Exceptional leadership and people management skills
Advanced project and portfolio management expertise
Strategic thinking with strong business acumen
Excellent communication, facilitation, and negotiation abilities
Proven ability to drive change and foster a culture of continuous improvement
Expertise in resource allocation, risk management, and stakeholder engagement
Proficiency with portfolio and project management software and tools
Deep understanding of product development lifecycle, engineering, and manufacturing operations
Required Qualifications
Demonstrated success leading and managing a team of project managers in a product development environment
Strong knowledge of project and portfolio management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, Stage‑Gate, Lean, etc.)
Experience implementing process improvement or organizational change initiatives
Ability to influence and collaborate effectively at all levels of the organization
Education & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Project Management, or a related field (Master's degree preferred)
10+ years of progressive project management experience, with at least 3‑5 years in a leadership or management role, preferably in pumps, fluid handling, or related manufacturing industries
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification strongly preferred
Proven experience managing a portfolio of complex, cross‑functional product development projects
Travel Expectations Willingness to Travel: Availability to travel up to 25 % of the time (e.g., customer visits, training at our technical centers, trade shows, etc.).
Supervisory Responsibilities This position manages the project management team and is expected to provide a leadership role within the division. Position responsible for driving the strategic growth segments of the division through innovative product development and exploring adjacent market opportunities. Must effectively interface with all division departments and management. Reports directly to Director of Global Engineering.
