Overview
Dewberry is currently seeking a motivated
Senior Traffic Modeler
or
Senior Traffic Engineer
to be located in either our
New York, NY
or New Jersey offices. This position offers an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic and talented individual to join a large team of traffic engineers. Projects range from local community-focused safety and multimodal projects to large highway improvement projects. The role provides tremendous career growth potential in a highly collaborative environment while working on a broad range of project types for local and national transportation clients.

Responsibilities
Perform and manage large-scale complex traffic analysis and traffic engineering studies
Perform safety analysis
Perform transportation master plan studies
Meet with clients
Communicate effectively with internal team members, subconsultant partners, and clients
Collaborate with roadway, structures, hydraulics, and environmental groups within our Transportation business unit
Lead and/or mentor a group of staff traffic engineers
Assist in proposal development
Qualifications The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 8‑12 years of traffic modeling and traffic engineering experience, including work on NYCDOT and NYSDOT projects. Applicants must have strong communication and interpersonal skills, the ability to monitor schedules and budgets, work in groups, and lead and mentor a team of traffic engineers.
BS in Civil Engineering
PE license preferred; PTOE preferred
Minimum 8–12 years of experience in traffic modeling/engineering
Proficiency with analysis software VISSIM, Synchro, SimTraffic, HCS required
Experience with VISUM, SIDRA preferred
NYCDOT and NYSDOT experience preferred
MicroStation experience preferred
Project Management and leadership skills preferred
Excellent communication and organizational skills

Salary Range The projected range for this position is $144,000 to $170,000 annually. Depending upon other factors, i.e., skills, experience, location, market conditions, the range may vary slightly. These ranges are for NY only.
