Azure Cloud Architect 4 – Local to Richmond, VA
Seeking a senior Azure Cloud Architect to advise the agency on architecture and security concerns associated with Azure, including in-place migrations/refactoring. Location: Richmond, VA (on‑site required 2‑3 days per week). Salary: $140,000.00-$160,000.00. Duration: Expected 1 year. Key Responsibilities
Advise agency on Azure architecture and security concerns. Recommend lift‑and‑shift and on‑premise to cloud‑native migrations. Recommend refactoring within Azure environment. Conduct testing within Azure to demonstrate minimal viable product of an architecture. Understand available offerings from COV, MSI and other partners. Configure Azure services to support agency‑level objectives. Sign Non‑Disclosure Agreement. Required/Desired Skills
Strong knowledge of cloud fundamentals (5+ years). Knowledge of single and multi‑cloud strategies and implications (5+ years). Experience designing cloud solutions that meet business requirements (5+ years). Strong knowledge of Azure network and storage architectures (5+ years). Experience with Azure Services (Key Vault, Entra ID, etc.) (5+ years). Experience with Azure Functions, Web App/App Service, Containers, micro‑services, server‑less architecture (5+ years). Knowledge of cloud security principles including zero‑trust, network segmentation, JIT access, conditional access (5+ years). Experience architecting solutions for RPO and RTO objectives in Azure (5+ years). Effective documentation writing; produce professional documentation (5+ years). Experience managing cloud‑based security posture activities (5+ years). Knowledge of DevOps using Azure DevOps and GitHub Enterprise Cloud (5+ years). Experience with data storage products like SQL Server, Oracle, Cosmos DB (5+ years). On‑premise architect experience (5+ years). Strong communication skills (5+ years). Microsoft Certification in Azure Solutions Architect (Required). Additional Requirements
Must be physically located in the United States and willing to work onsite 2–3 days per week. Must sign NDAs and comply with agency security policies. Only new candidates will be considered. Seniority Level
